1. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Sign in with Apple identifier: Used to authenticate you and link your data to your account.
• User ID: A unique ID assigned to your account and used to associate your Spaces and records with you.

Your Financial Records

• Expenses and income you enter: amounts, currencies, dates, categories, and notes. Stored in our secure cloud database so they sync across your devices and with members of any Space you share.
• Receipt photos: If you capture a receipt, the image is stored alongside the record. You can delete it at any time.
• Voice input: Transcribed on-device using Apple's Speech framework. We store the resulting text as the record's note — we do not store the audio.

Spaces and Sharing

• Space membership: When you share a Space, every member of that Space can see the records, categories, and budgets within it.

Purchases

• Purchase history: Collected to manage subscriptions and verify purchases.

Diagnostics

• Crash data and diagnostic information: Collected to identify bugs and improve app stability.

We do not collect your contacts, precise location, browsing history, or financial account credentials. Spendspace does not connect to your bank.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain core app functionality (syncing records, managing Spaces, budgets, and categories)
• Authenticate you and secure your account
• Enable sharing records with other members of a Space
• Manage subscriptions and verify purchases
• Detect, prevent, and resolve crashes or technical issues

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not use your financial data to serve ads.

3. Data Storage and Retention

Your records, Spaces, and account data are stored using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Authentication, and Cloud Storage), which follows industry-standard security practices. We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the app's services.

You can delete individual records, Spaces, or your entire account at any time. When you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days.

4. Data Sharing

We share limited information with trusted third-party service providers strictly for the following purposes:

• Google Firebase — account authentication, database storage, receipt image storage, and crash reporting
• Apple — Sign in with Apple, speech transcription (on-device), App Store subscription management

All third parties are required to process your data securely and only for the purposes specified.

5. Website Cookies and Analytics

Our website (spendspace.app) uses Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand how visitors discover and use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) that collect information about your visit, including pages viewed, approximate location, device type, and referring source. This data is aggregated and used to improve the site.

Analytics cookies are only loaded after you accept them via the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you reject, no analytics cookies are set and no tracking data is sent to Google. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's site data for spendspace.app, which will re-show the banner.

6. User Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Spendspace is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence. By using Spendspace, you consent to such international data transfers as necessary for app operation.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, the Effective Date will be updated and the revised policy will be made available within the app or on our official page. Continued use of Spendspace indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
